Thx much! I initially thought that the first character of the top line was a double-stamped V rather than a W, so your information appears to confirm that.

This is an edited version of my earlier reply. The first line would appear to be the individual frame serial number. Given that the second line of your numbers is identical, I would presume that refers to some specs related to the frame, possibly dimensions, factory, etc. I've got that exact 1997 HKEK in the same size. I'm considering removing the paint from that area to see if that makes the characters easier to read. Based on the '97 GF catalog, it appears they used C-T for geometry measurements and they listed sizes as XS, S, M, L and XL rather than numeric sizing.Ĭloseup photo attached.

I assume the frame size is indicated somewhere in the stampings, so I'm providing the frame measurements of 18" C-C and 18.5" C-T if that helps in deciphering any of the numbers. Second line: 160 (not sure if 2nd character is a 6, not sure if 3rd character is a 0, not sure if 5th character is 8 or maybe 6, not sure if 6th character is G or maybe 6) location of letters versus numbers in various positions.įirst Line: WTU 1957513 M (not sure of first character - could be a V) Wondering if someone has a HKEK of the same era with a clearer imprint and could let me know if these characters make sense.e.g. Just picked up a 1997 Hoo Koo E Koo (HKEK), and the serial number imprints on the bottom of the bottom bracket are rather crude and some characters are quite difficult to make out.
